WTN: Two Piemonte Nebbs....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Fri Sep 06, 2024 1:07 pm

We had these two Nebbiolos that other week at our Pig+Fig tasting:
1. Tintero Dd'OC: Langhe Nebbiolo RW (14%; KermitLynch) Tintero Elvio/Mango/Piemonte 2022: Med.dark color; fairly strong floral/Nebb/lilacs strong pungent/tarry/road tar slight earthy/dusty fairly rich quite intense Nebb nose; lightly tart fairly strong floral/Nebb/lilacs bit earthy some pungent/tarry/licorice slight alcoholic/hot rather rich flavor w/ light bit tangy tannins; very long strong Nebb finish that mirrors flavor; not the high-toned perfumed character of many Langhe Nebbs but bigger & richer; needs several yrs of age; quite a good Langhe for this price; great value. $16.00 (KL)

2. Rocca Albino Dd'OCeG: Barbaresco Vigneto Brich Ronchi (14%; Adventures in Wine/DalyCity/CA) Barbaresco 1998: Very dark color w/ light bricking; very strong pungent/licorice/tarry almost blackberry/Rhonish some earthy/dusty/OV lightly floral/Nebb/lilacs rather rich lovely nose; quite tart/tangy rather hard/tannic quite rich/mouthfilling fairly floral/lilacs rather tarry/pungent flavor w/ ample rich tannins; very long/lingering rather pungent finish w/ some chewey tannins; needs age but can still go on; an amazingly rich expression of a Barbaresco of that age; of Gaja level of quality.

More neckopritl from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. These two were part of my recent tasting of new Italians from Kermit-Lynch. The Barbaresco was from a new producer to me that Larry brought. I was impressed by both these Nebbs.
