Tried this wine w/ Susan on Fri for DinDin:
1. Weiongut Carl Ehrhard Roter Riesling Trocken Rheingauer Landwein (12.0%; Red Riesling Amphora Dry; Aged: 15 mo. in 800 l clay amphora; MarchettiCo/ClevelandHeights/OH) Weingut Carl Ehrhard/Rudesheim 2021 :Light golden/rosato color; very fragrant R/floral/mango slight citrus/orange light perfumed talc/chalky slight honeyed slight metallic/flinty quite attractive/lovely nose; fairly tart/tangy fairly dry strong R/floral/mango/spicy light chalky/mineral/flinty/perfumed talc flavor w/ no tannins; very long strong R/floral finish w/ very slight tannins; speaks strongly of floral/mango R w/ a slight bit of earthiness; quite a nice expression of R but nothing strongly different from a White Riesling except a bit of earthimess; not as high-toned as the other Ehrhard R we tried. $26.00 (KK)

More cipplefret from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Roter (red) Riesling is a color mutation of White Riesling. It is not really a red grape but, like Pinot Gris or GWT, a variety that takes on, when ripe, a pinkish hue. Within a bunch, there will be some totally white berries, plus some w/ light pigmentation. It apparently is not much susceptible to botrytis. It is mostly found in the Rheingau w/ a bit in Austria. An interesting expression of R.
