We tried this red last night at our Pig+Fig tasting of Italian wines:
1. Cantina Massara Dd'OC: Verduno Pelaverga Piccolo (14%; ThePiedmontGuy/Shafer/MN) Burlotto Gian Carlo/Verduno 2022: Light ruby color; attractive cherry/strawberry/spicy/bit floral rather perfumed slight earthy/dusty quite pretty nose; fairly tart lightweight cherry/strawberry/perfumed bit BojoNoveau very pretty flavor w/ light crisp tannins; med.long bright finish that follows flavor; a very pretty lightweight red that's some loke a BojoNoveau, much like a Piemonte Brachetto; a bright exhuberent red for frivolous drinking; a bit pricey for what it is at $40.00 (SFW&S)

More bittefarkle from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Pelaverga (Grosso & Piccolo) is a very rare Piemonte grape grown exclusively in Verduno and Colline Saluzzesi. The two grapes are entirely different and make quite different wines. It appears no DNA has been done on either grape & its origins are unknown. The Grosso makes a wine that is also called Cari. So two more wines I need to edumacate myself on.
