Had these two wines last night for DinDin:
1. Etude PinotGris GraceBenoistRanch/Carneros (13.5%; www.EtudeWines.com) Napa 2022: Med.light yellow color; pleasant floral/peach/pear/perfumed talc very light chalky some attractive bit PinotAuxerois/Alsace nose; rather tart/tangy lightweight PG/floral/peach/perfumed talc light bodied slight chalky/bit metallic flavor; med. lightweight finish that tracks flavor; a simple lightly floral PG that's pleasant eough but just that; not very distinctive; reminds mostly of a lightweight Alsatian PG; not really vapid but pushing the boring envelope. $24.00 (PrimaIlC)

2. WindGap Syrah ArmaghVnyd/SonomaCoast (13.4%; www.WindGapWines.com) Forestville 2010: Med.dark color w/ some browning; beautiful very Rhonish/smokey/roasted strong c-c Syrah/black pepper strong w-c/Rhonish/smokey strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy very complex nose; quite tart/tangy/metallicvery strong w-c/Rhonish/roasted/smokey some c-c/black pepper/blackberry/Syrah rather hard/tannic/austere bit dried-out flavor w/ ample hard/drying tannins; very long/lingering very Rhonish/roasted finish w/ ample died-out tannins; a beautiful complex Rhonish nose but rather dried-out/low fruit on the palate; well beyond it peak and will not outlive the hard tannins.

More nittlescat from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I really liked the nose on the WindGap but the winemaking pretty much dominated this wine at the expense of much Syrah fruit. Maybe a bit too much of a good thing. But a very interesting rendition of Syrah.
