Friday was Danny Kaye chicken salad (tarragon)
2001 Weingut Berger Riesling Gedersdorfer Steingraben
Rich and honied, plenty of life left, just not that attractive a life. Nice peach and ginger flavors, but comes across as ponderous, needs more verve. B-

Saturday found some beautiful halibut cheeks at market, sauteed with a little orange juice at end and served with oysters, corn, delicata squash, arugula salad
2022 Forjas del Salnes “Leirana” Albarino
Citrus and green apple, saline/mineral, good finish. B+/B

Long day supervising a picnic trip, happy that dinner was just dibby-dabbies (aka assorted leftovers). Chicken, fish, beef, vegetables, rice, couscous and more
2016 Querciabella Chianti Classico
Young, cherries, citrus peel and spice, rose petals. Good acids and some tannic backbone, this is better with beef than chicken. B for now , expect to get a little better

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
