We tried these two last night at our Pig+Fig tasting:
1. Siduri PinotNoir ClosPepeVnyd/SantaRitaHills (14.8%) 2003: Very dark color w/ little bricking; strong pencilly/Siduri oak/cedary bit dusty/OV strong black cherry/black cherry cola/PN/very spicy quite complex slight mature/aged lovely nose; lightly tart very smooth rather spicy strong PN/cherry/black cherry fairly mature light cedary/pencilly/Siduri oak/smokey quite complex flavor w/ light smooth tannins; very long/lingering smooth finish that tracks flavor; in great condition for a 20 yr old PN; maybe lost a bit of fruit but no signs of tired or drying out on the palate; a beautifully mature Siduri PN probably at or slightly beyond its peak. $nc (BSvSG)

Siduri PinotNoir ArbreVertVnyd/WillVlly/OR (13.0%) 2006: Med.light color w/ some bricking; rather earthy/dusty/OV lightly bright cherry/PN some toasty/Fr.oak/non-Siduri oak fairly classic OR lightish/pretty PN nose; quite tart fairly pencilly/oak rather earthy/dusty/OV bit herbal bright/cherry OR PN bit complex flavor w/ light brisk tannins; med.long cherry/oak finish that tracks flavor; some brisk/bright cherry OR PN fruit w/ lots of earthy/dusty character; on the lightish side and probably start to fade but no signs of drying out or oxidation. $29.50

1. The '03 was a contribution of Stacey's from her Dad's cellar. It was in far better shape than I expected it to be at 20+ yrs of age. No signs of going downhill & probably at its peak or a bit beyond.
