We had these two WindGaps at our tasting at Pig+Fig last week:
1. WindGap Syrah SonomaCoast (13.2%; 100% w-c; Neutral Fr.oak for 10 mo; 48 brls) 2015: Med.dark color w/ little bricking; strong smokey/oak strong w-c/peppery/Rhonish some blackberry/c-c peppery Syrah quite complex lovely nose; quite tart/tangy bit hard/tannic strong w-c/peppery/Rhonish some blackberry/blueberry/Syrah bit lean/hard/tannic flavor; long rather tart/tangy finish that follows flavor; a lovely w-c/Rhonish wine on the nose but rather hard/chewey on the palate; needs more age but may not outlive the tannins.

More girdlsqueeze from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Both of these Syrahs are clearly cut from the same mold. The 2nd one has more intensity & should be able to outlive the tannins. Beautiful examples of Rhonish Calif c-c Syrahs.
