- 2019 Cruse Wine Company St. Laurent Pétillant Naturel Ricci Vineyard - USA, California, Napa / Sonoma, Carneros (8/10/2024)
Had never intended to age this more than a year, but things get buried, so…
At first I was thinking “what the hell is this?” A few minutes later it was “hmm, this is interesting.” A little while after that everything clicked. Yes this has a touch of cider, but it works with the dark profile of the wine. A little earthy, lots of red fruit, and then an intriguing savory note, it kept me thinking from first sip to last. And when people say drink beer with Thai food, this actually worked very well with our green curry main dish.

I absolutely adored a bottle of this my friend Warren gave me. I remember a spectacular amount of spice, which you don't mention. Did that age out?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Might have been subsumed by the food.
