My prior bottle was clearly off, as this one had notably ripe fruit, but also a bit of a green tobacco edge not unlike a Loire Cabernet Franc. Nothing screechy like the other bottle, and would probably have been a fine companion to a more fall type menu rather than cooler summer fare I had it with.
