Cracked this wine last night:
1. Zarautz Txakoli Primo (11.5%; Tri-Vin Imprts/New Rochelle/NY) Zarautz/Espana 2021: Light yellow color w/ loads of tiny bubbles that coalesce on the sides of the glass. quite fragrant floral/gardenias/minty almost R-like/floral slight stony/chalky quite perfumed nose; quite tart/tangy slightly off-dry (0.1-0.2% RS) rather grapefruity/citrusy some tangy/metallic/flinty rather floral/gardenias/minty/spicy lightweight/brisk/bracing some dissolved CO2 flavor; long citrusy/grapefruity off-dry finish that mimics flavor; a rather pretty/pleasant fairly aromatic expression of Txakoli; considerable dissolved CO2 which gives it some zip; a pretty good value for a lightweight/tasty white; a fairly classic expression of Txakoli. $15.00 (SFW&S)

More chocoleena from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Txakoli or Txakolina is a white wine from the Basque region of Spain. The grape that makes it is hondarribi zuri, though there is some debate over what the grape actually is. Twenty yrs ago, it was pretty much an unknown wine in the US, although it receiving more & more recognition. The wines are not particularly profound but just really good drinking.
