A nice group met at Noreetuh Thursday night. Some folks I see regularly, some friends I haven’t seen in ages, and a couple of folks who I met for first time. As we gathered.

2007 Chevillon Cailles Nuits St George 1er
So I was supposed to bring 07 Chevillon Vaucrains to pair with 08 but opened in afternoon and it was badly corked. So grabbed this as replacement. Initially thought it fine and typical, but with a bit of air some TCA showed here too! Cork gods were frowning on me Thursday! NR
2008 Chevillon Vaucrains Nuits St George 1er
Black cherry, citrus zest, smoke and earth. Midweight yet with a sense of power, I liked a lot, and think will be better. B+
Fun night.
Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
