Sat outside with a glass of this a few nights ago:

2022 Scarpetta Pinot Grigio, Friuli
Like most of you, not especially a fan of pinot gris/grigio unless it's Friuli or Alsace. This is a perfect summer drink: pear and white grapefruit, with just enough intensity and acidity to be both interesting and refreshing. Only $13 locally. One of those wines that will please everyone at your next summer picnic.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Speak for yourself! I drink more German Grauburgunder than wines from either of those regions.

Although I must admit, it's not at the top of my list for German white wines...

Well of course, but you live in Berlin (at least some of the time)!

Fair enough! Can't say I've purchased much grauburgunder outside of Germany. But it can be delicious. It's just the old problem of too many delicious wines, not enough time...

There's a lot of pinot gris/grigio here on the west coast too. But I ignore the local renditions. The only domestic PGs I've purchased in years were British Columbian whose intense, minerally whites are levels above the lower 48's.

There’s a delicious Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Gris. Close as I get.
