More dittlequack from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I really liked both of these Muscats. They were not the usual in-your-face intensely muscatty character of most Muscats. The '16 was a particularly interesting version of Muscat that was still in very good shape. The Chambave is a sub-region in the Val d'Aosta.
The PetiteArvine grape is mostly grown in the Valais of Suisse w/ even smaller amounts grown in the Vd'A. It is thought to have originated in Suisse Valais and travelled to the Vd'A. The DNA cannot any relationship to any other grapes.
The LaVrille came from Enoteca Vino Nostra, the retail outlet on VanNess Ave/SF for the wines of Tosco Imports. The retail shop shut down several yrs ago but apparently the import operation is still in business. Can't find a WebSite, so don't know much about them or if you can order directly from them.
