Tried this unusual Gamay at Pig+Fig last night:
1. Grosjean Gamay Dd'OC: Vallee d'Aoste (12.5%; NealRosenthalImprts/NY) Grosjean Vins/Olignan 2022: Med.light color; strong grapey/Gamay rathe alpine/floral/violets some earthy/dusty/OV rather fragrant clearly Gamay nose; fairly tart/tangy strong Gamay/grapey rather alpine/floral/violets slightly rustic very unusual Gamay flavor w/ light tangy tannins; very long grapey/floral finish that follows flavor; distinctly Gamay but much more floral/high-toned & less earthy/plummy than most Gamay; quite a lovely expression of Gamay. $29.00 (KK)

More acklebite from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I was quite taken by this wine. Not usually much of a fan of Gamay but this had a fragrance atypical of the variety. A Neal Rosenthal import, I should have known I would like it. Grown in an area where Gamay is not often found, it is quite a distinctive wine. Must be that terroir thing that wine geeks babble on about!!
