Served to guests last night:

2021 Vineyard 29 Sauvignon Blanc Cru Napa Valley
Bland, lacks depth. At $40, it's seriously overpriced (this was a recent purchase) for what it is.

2019 Massican Chardonnay Hyde Vineyards Napa Valley
A masterclass in understatement for California chardonnay. Exceptional minerality, balance and finish.

2017 Bedrock Wine Co. The Bedrock Heritage Sonoma Valley Zinfandel Blend, Zinfandel
Opened it, tasted it, liked it a lot, but decanted anyway two hours before dinner, expecting more/better with time but in fact it went the other way. Didn't exactly close up so much as the round, warm, earthy notes retracted and it became just angular sweet dark black raspberry fruit and tannins. Went ahead and served it but it wasn't what I hoped for.

Love that Massican Hyde.

The Bedrock confuses me.

It confused me too, believe me.
