We headed to Tarrytown Friday,, to friends lovely apartment with river and bridge views. We carried the appetizers- crudites with Green Goddess and white bean/garlic scape dips

NV Paul Dethune Grand Cru Brut
Peaches, red delicious apple, rather high dosage, not my preferred style. B-

Then to table for gazpacho with shrimp and avocado, then grilled pork tenderloin with potatoes and salad
2021 Giovanni Rosso Langhe Nebbiolo
Really quite nice for the level, some firm tannin and acidity. Fresh cherry and raspberry, a little herb, clean and easy. B

2016 Emilio Moro (Ribera del Douro)
I think I’ve liked this producer before, but this tastes more like Grenache than Tempranillo. Lifted nose, jammy red fruit, getting a touch pruney, not very long. C+

1993 Moine-Hudelot Chambolle 1er
Bright crisp raspberry and cranberry fruit, herby/spicy nose of mustard seed and herbs de provence. Only thing keeping it from being outstanding is rather short finish. B+/B

Saturday curry chicken katsu with cabbage, rice, and Japanese pickles
2021 Peter Lauer Kern Fass 9 Riesling
Halbtrocken sweetness, citrusy fruit with mint and gunflint. Well-balanced, long,. B+

Sunday I’m baching it wih swordfish, angelhair pasta with pesto, mushrooms, and green beans with dill
2011 Ch.Montelena Chardonnay (40th Anniversary)
Vanillin oak, pear, good acidity, but a little flat and short on finish. B-

Burger and assorted leftovers, the 2008 Ch. D’Issan
Lovely red and black fruits, a little mocha, some incipient leather and tobacco notes. Rich but with good acidic structure, nice length. B+/A-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
