WTN: La Vie en Rose--Baudry

by Jenise » Fri Jun 21, 2024 11:59 am

Outside watching the shorebirds on a perfect 72F day:

2022 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Rosé Cabernet Franc
Pale pink color. On the palate all strawberry and peach, and a sweet aftertaste. Very good, though of the two Loire roses I've had lately I prefer the drier Joguet.

Actual sweet or fruity sweet?

Fruity sweet but possibly a tad of RS. At least to me, it came across as RS.

Interesting to hear about the rs. I've had this in a few vintages, always found it fully dry (though ripe), though I haven't tried the '22 yet. But this is a good reminder to check it out soon.

Understood re the ripeness which is why I wasn't sure if it was actually RS there or not. I am not always able to distinguish one from the other.
