2022 Dossier Wine Collective Sauvignon Blanc Halo Reserve Conner Lee Wahluke Slope
A few years ago I deemed the Dossier Wine Collective’s 2021 Sauvignon Blanc the best Washington state SB I’d ever had. That was replaced last night when a friend poured me the 2022 Dossier Halo Reserve Sauvignon Blanc and it’s the first American SB I’ve tasted that is right up there with the best Europeans, like Didier Dagenau’s Silex. Magical nose of guava, grass/hay, allspice, lemon oil and a million other things with dried pineapple, guava and more hay on the palate. The profile’s very similar to California winemaker Russell Bevan’s Dry Stack sauvignon blanc but with more complexity and deeper concentration. Texturally, it’s pure elegance. The long finish drapes itself over your tongue like silk. Other deets: Connor Lee fruit, 100% new FO, 14.2% abv. $100/bottle but dare I say: well worth it
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
