WTN: Antonucci Verdicchio '22....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Jun 10, 2024 12:46 pm

Tried this Verdicchio last night:
1. Stefano Antonucci LeVaglie Dd'OC: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico (12.5%; www.SantaBarbara.It; IndigenousSlctns/FtLauderdale/FL) Santa Barbara/Barbara 2022: Med.light yellow color; some stony/chalky/mineral lightly floral/carnations/Verd bit perfumed talc quite pleasant perfumed nose; fairly tart/tangy some stony/chalky/perfumed talc light floral/Verd/carnations bit lightweght slight earthy flavor; long stonu/chalky lightly floral/Verd finish; a rather pretty lightweight expression of Verd but not profound nor any depth; pleasant enough white at a very fair price but nudging ito bland territory. $19.00 (KK)

More mitzercrop from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Last week, Roberto Rotatori of Antonucci was in town to show his wines. I thought, overall, the wines were pretty decent expressions of Marche wines but nothing special.

I'm confused as to where this stuff actually comes from. Of course based on your note it really doesn't matter.

Comes from The Marche. Santa Barbara is just the village & nothing to do w/ StBarbara CA.
But the front of the label says clearly Santa Barbara & so I, at first thought, it came from CA.

That's exactly the confusion I was dealing with.
