With guests on Sunday night:

2022 Makarounas 'Aerides', Xynisteri of Paphos, Cyprus
Deep yellow color with attractive, intense aromas. If you've ever smelled or eaten fresh quince, THIS, along with pineapple and fresh bay leaf. Texturally it leans toward full-bodied without getting into Mae West territory, and the finish stays with you long after you put down your glass. Outstanding.

2020 Lucia Ferreira Dão Mary Taylor White Blend
A blend of Bical, Encruzado, Gouveio and Malvasia Fins. Early CT notes describe an initially wan, lackluster wine that has of late started showing considerable charm with an unusual, mesmerizing nose (Portugese whites can be so fragrant) and complex, tangy orchard fruits on the palate. Definitely the crowd favorite at our little soiree.

2021 Tenuta Le Calcinaie Vernaccia di San Gimignano
In the past I haven't been the biggest fan of Vernaccia finding them a bit 'screechy', but maybe I've been drinking them too young because this one was delightful. Has the trademark minerality and salinity, but also solid fruit (pear, melon) and pleasant herbaceousness (parsley, tarragon).
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Fun lineup.
Makarounas Xynisteri Aerides Paphos - assume Makarounas is producer. What is/are grape (s)?
Mary Taylor has good batting average for QPR

Xynisteri is the grape and yes Makarounas is the producer (Aerides is the proprietary name of the wine and Paphos the local AVA).
But I erred in suggesting it's Greek. Cyprus is the country of origin. It was terrific. A Skurnik import, if that matters. I'll definitely buy again.
