1. Ryme Sagratino SilettoFamilyVnyd/SanBenitoCnty (13.4%) 2022: Med.dark color; lovely fragrant cherry/Sagratino/spicy bit plummy/grapey CienegaVlly beautiful nose; quite tart/tangy rather angular/hard strong cherry/Sagratino/black cherry light pencilly/oak quite perfumed flavor w/ light bitey tannins; very long/lingering bright/cherry/grapey finish that follows flavor; a bit on the hard/angular side but lovely fragrance; quite a pretty Sagratino that needs 2-5 yrs; not the rusticity of Montefalco versions. $38.00

Ryme Montepulciano SilettoFamilyVnyd/SanBenitoCnty (12.2%) 2022: Med. dark color; rather earthy/dusty bit rustic/Italianate slight CienegaVlly grapey/plummy bit coarse nose; some CV grapey/earthy/dusty bit rustic/coarse somewhat hard/tannic/bit coarse flavor w/ light coarse tannins; very long coarse/grapey finish follows flavor; shows a lot of the coarse side of Montepulciano; needs 2-5 yrs of age

1. Sagratino is an indigeneous grape grown mostly in Umbria, primarily the Montefalco area. I liked this Ryme version quite a lot for its high-toned fruit. Not the rusticity you get in the Montefalce versions.
The Ryme red wines tend to be on the lean/hard side. I found both of these a bit richer/lusher than their reds tend to be.
