  Vacation Champagne, and a fine accompaniment to our dinner of lobster rolls (butter version, not mayo). Not quite as severe as I was expecting given the reputation of the vintage, but it had more than sufficient acidity to cut through the butter, and also complement the lemon that we put on a few pieces of the lobster meat. There’s plenty of depth to support aging, though I really like where it is right now, at least with a lobster roll accompaniment.

Nice. Where is this vacation? Getting kind of hot in Nyc, so the idea of a presumably-coastal vacation, with fresh sea air, lobster, and BdB Champagne, all sounds pretty nice!

Had another bottle tonight with some Gougeres, and it showed really well again. Citrusy and precise. Not profound, but very drinkable. We both enjoyed it. The bottle disappeared too quickly.
