WTN: Bows and Ribbons

by David M. Bueker » Sun May 12, 2024 7:57 pm

  • 2021 Vincent Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge (5/12/2024)
When I first tasted this wine I lamented that I had only purchased one case instead of two. By happy accident I ended up with two cases. This bottle made me wish I had three. It’s a bold statement, but this might be the best drinking young Pinot Noir I have had I my life. Each sip compels me to another. The fruit is ripe and bright, the structure hidden yet evident, and the finish long, echoing the fruit, but also picking up more savory tones. What it has the most of is life. It’s invigorating and refreshing, compelling and wholly satisfying. Bravo Vincent.

There's no need to reiterate what I have said previously, as a bottle opened last night was essentially identical to the last one. I'll just say that this is my favorite domestic Pinot Noir - hands down. $30/bottle including shipping when I bought the case, it's also the best value.

Sounds great (missed first time around). I've really enjoyed the couple of Vincent wines I have had, but have been trying to cut buying (and sticking to a few sources). Maybe I should reconsider. Thanks

I economized by sticking to his AVA blends the last couple of years. They are so good I don’t miss the single vineyard stuff.
