Tried these two last night from my latest IlConsorzio shipment:
1. IlPalazzotto SoriCristina Dd'OCG: Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba (13.5%; KermitLynch/Berkeley) Olivero Paolo/Diano d'Alba 2021: Very dark color; strong very grapey/Dolcetto/boysenberry/bit licorice bit earthy/dust/OV rather ripe/plummy fairly intense Dolcetto nose; lightly tart very strong ripe/Dolcetto/boysenberry/licorice/grapey some plummy/dusty/OV light earthy quite rich/lish clean/grapey flavor w/ light modest tannins; very long/lingering finish that follows flavor; clean & well-made & almost Calif in style but the backbone/structure of Piemonte; a textbook expression of Piemonte Dolcetto; balanced & very drinkable & great price. $18.00 (Prima/IlC)

2. ViteColte LaLuna e i Falo Dd'OCG: Barbera d'Asti Superiore (14.5%; GrapeExpectations/Richmond) ViteColte/Barolo 2021: Very dark color; rather lush/grapey very spicy/Barbera/ripe/Italian dried herbs some dusty/OV/earthy bit Calif/lush some complex classis ripe/Barbera nose; some tart/tangy ripe/Barbera/blackberry/spicy/Italian sausage some structured rather Calif/lush slight pencilly/oak fairly rich/lush flavor w/ modest ripe tannins; very long/lingering lush/ripe/spicy/Barbera finish w/ some tannins; can use a few yrs; lots of ripe Calif/lush Barbera character & not the hard/angular character of many Piemonte Barberas; a lovely/unusual (for Piemonte) expression of Barbera w/ a slightly rustic character that you don't get in Calif Barbera; reminds a bit of the old Montevina Barberas of Cary Got but w/o the oak signature; great price of $18.00 (Prima/IlC)

More gigglfritz from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. The Giacosa Arneis '22 from this shipment was a killer wine. I didn't expect these two to measure up. But they indeed did. I'm going back for all three. W/ the IlConsorzio discount, these are screaming deals.
