WTN: Champagne, Italian rose, Chianti GS, and a dead Chenin

NV Charles Ellner Carte Blanche
Toast, pear and Red Delicious apple, a little oxidative note, seemingly high dosage makes this not really my cuppa. B-/C+

With bluefish Dijonnais , zucchini, salad
1989 Baumard Savennieres
Loose cork, dark color, quite oxidized. This bottle C- (from Winebid, maybe not representative bottle)

2017 Castello di Gabbiano Cavaliere d'Oro Bellezza Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
What a long name. Cherry, red plum, fuller/richer style of Chianti, I’d prefer something a bit more svelte., 14% alcohol shows a bit. Still, a pleasant quaff. B/B-

With HMart marinated chicken, Chinese broccoli, king oyster mushrooms, GABA rice, hakurei turnips in a citrus glaze, and banchan
2022 Tiberio Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo.
Finally a wine I really like. Bright snappy raspberry/cranberry fruit, herbs, long for rose. B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

I really liked that Chianti when I first encountered it. Yes, a full-bodied style, but lush in a good way for me. Not so happy with a repurchase a few months later. Seemed to be a lot of bottle variation.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I opened a Gabbiano last week and it was pleasant, good value but didn't get in the way of the conversation.
