WTN: Chateau Du Prieure Des Mourges 2003

Saint Chinian. From Vignoble Roger.

A blend of low-yielding Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignane.

Every time I enjoy a bottle from this appelation I ask myself the same question: "Why don't I buy more wine from here??"

Good, dark red color in the glass.

A "fun" nose: soft, smoky, quite tangy, spicy with rich and intense berry fruit.

Tangy acidity, spicy, cherry and raspberry fruit, with a hint of cranberry, red licorice, floral and a pleasing streak of bitterness to give it an extra edge.

Delicious and quite gulpable.

A bargain at $15.95 (Canadian).
