I Just Love Pegau !

I recently received a case of 2007 Pegau Res. I had never tried that year and was just blown away by the quality today . Their wines are great on release and age for decades. Along with Beaucastel no other CdP compares for complexity and ageability. I came into CdP late and my first was 1989 Beaucastel then 1997/98/99 2000 Pegau, 2001, 2002 (yes there was a 2002 unfortunately) and then went elsewhere. I;m back to CdP now and am presently drinking the 2001 (just a few left) and 2007 and 2019. My 2020 will be delivered in Sept. I think the reason I love these CdP is the Brett. That funky barnyardy note , if not too strong, is lovely and most if not all other CdP are all about fruit, which is a bit boring to me. What do others think ?

Actually gathering up some thoughts from a dinner last night where we had several Chateauneuf wines, including a somewhat bretty 2001 Pegau.

Pegau's my favorite CdP as well. I have had others here and there I thought as good, especially VT, but across the board year in and year out, Pegau it is.

Brought home a few bottles of CNdP from dad’s cellar today. Going to do a 2000 horizontal relatively soon.

Thanks for the reminder - time I opened one too. Anyone dared to open a bottle of the 2007 De Capo yet? I only have one and don't want to open it too soon. And one bottle of 1990 Laurence that I want to taste against the Reservee from that vintage if I can find one.
