Had this as my white last night for DinDin:
1. Forlorn-Hope Vermentino baron von verm Rorick Heritage Vnyd/CalaverasCVnty/SierraFoothills (12.35%; www.ForlornHopeWines.com; no added sulfites) Matthew Rorick/Murphys 2017: Med.dark gold color; strong fragrant Verm/floral/carnations/marigolds slight herbal/perfumed talc bit dusty/OV slight honeyed somewhat complex rather saline quite interesting lovely nose; rather tart/tangy bit metallic/savory/saline light floral/carnations/marigolds/Verm/pungent fairly mineral/stony/chalky very interesting flavor; very long floral/marigolds saline finish mirrors the flavor w/ slight tannic bite; little evidence of any skin-contact; a very interesting tangy quite saline Verm that far more resembles Corsican Verm than a floral Calif version; you can actually taste the sea-salt from off the coast of Corsica though Sierra Foothills is a bit far away; quite an interesting expression of Calif Verm w/ no signs of oxidation.

1. Matt Rorick makes some really interesting wines at Forlorn-Hope. This is one of the more interesting ones. As are his PinotGris Ramatos w/ some age on them. Although he doesn't advertise himself as such, he is pretty much a natural winemaker. This wine shows no evidence of any natty character whatsoever.
