WTN: A New Gruner/An Old Syrah..(short/boring)

Had these two last night for DinDin:
1. Solminer GrunerVeltliner SpearVnyd/Sta.RitaHills (12.9%; 142 cs) Anna&David DeLaski/Buellton 2023: Med.light yellow color; fairly fragrant GV/white pepper some floral/gardenias light chalky/perfumed talc slightly spicy bit lightweight nose; fairly tart/tangy slightlyrich some floral/GV/gardenias light white pepper/spicy slight chalky/perfumed talc/metallic rather wirey/brisk quite attractive flavor; long finish that mimics flavor; a quite pretty expression of GV of the Austrian federspiel level; a bit lightweight GV but not at all lean or eviscerated. $36.00/$32.40

2. Novy Syrah Susan'sHillVnyd/SantaLuciaHighlands (15.4%) SantaRosa 2011: Very dark color w/ some bricking; lovely intense blackberry/boysenberry/blueberry/Syrah bit cold-climate/peppery/herbal some Siduri Fr.oak/toasty somewhat complex rather youthful nose; lightly tart strong Syrah/spicy/blackberry/boysenberry/ripe some toasty/Siduri oak very slight cedary/pencilly/oldRed fairly rich bit SLH/herbal/peppery bit complex flavor w/ light gentle tannins; very long/lingering soft/lush finish that mirrors flavor; a classic Novy SLH Syrah that still has loads of Syrah fruit & Siduri oak; tannins fully resolved, not showing its age nor drying out; probably fully mature & not going to improve any.

More fistabart from THeBloodyPulpit:
1. I generally like the wines of David & Anna DeLaski/Solminer. They are quite pretty wines on the lower alcohol level. I wish they showed a bit more intensity, but they're quite nice drinking.
