We tasted last week at Pig+Fig some New Carlisle Syrahs:
1. Carlisle Syrah Rosella'sVnyd/SantaLuciaHighlands/MontereyCnty (14.3%; 365 cs) 2021: Very dark color; strong blackberry/c-c peppery/Syrah/slight herbal bit earthy/dusty light toasty/oak quite attractive nose; lightly tart strong blackberry/Syrah/very spicy bit herbal/c-c Syrah peppery light oak fairly rich/lush flavor w/ modest chewey tannins; very long/lingering slight peppery/herbal finish that mimics flavor; needs 2-5 yrs yet; quite a lovely Syrah. $40.00

2. More vickleberk from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I like the Syrahs Mike makes quite a lot. The JamesBerry is generally the one I like the least and always the most expensive. Of these two, I far preferred the Rosella's as being more spicy & interesting.
