Tried this last night w/ my pasta al forno:
1. Ioppa Vespolina CodaRosso DOC: CollineNovaresi (12.5%; www.viniioppa.it/en/; Aged: 12 mo. in SS; GiulianaImprts/Boulder) Ioppa Gianpiero e Giorgio/Romagnana Sesia 2022: Dark color; strong some floral/lilacs/bit Nebb-like fragrant some earthy/dusty/OV bit grapey/blackberry somewhat rustic fairly fragrant nose; lightly tart somewhat earthy/dusty/loamy light floral/lilacs/blackberry bit rustic/rough slightly coarse flavor w/ modest rough/coarse tannins; med.long rather rough/hard/rustic finish that mimics flavor; has a bit of the NovarroHills Nebb character but a rather rough/coarse character. $27.00 (SFW&S)

More listanorp from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Vespolina is a grape that is often blended w/ Nebbiolo & Bonarda to make the red wines of the Colline Novaresi in the AltoPiemonte; Gehmme & Spanna. It is not often seen as a single varietal.
I generally like the Ioppa wines, particularly the Timorasso & Nebbs. This one was a bit to rustic/coarse for my tastes.
