- 2012 Bott-Geyl Riesling Schoenenbourg - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru (12/31/2023)
Classic, full-bodied Alsatian Riesling. A touch of residual sugar, but only so much that it amplified the fruit, and not veering into “sweet wine” territory. Getting close to maturity, but not quite there yet. Excellent underlying acidity made the wine finish dry. The label states a “2” on a 1-10 scale from dry (1) to full sweet (10), and that’s probably fair. Excellent now, and probably for another 10+ years.
