Has some interesting wines at a lunch:
2012 Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Brut Millésimé - nice nose of citrus and apple, I think this is just getting into prime time for drinking.
2017 Ch. Carbonnieux blanc - exactly what you'd expect from a Bordeau sauvignon blanc - clean, crisp, hints of the usual gooseberry and grass,
2021 Dragonette Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard - zowie! Added tropical fruit notes to the usual SB characteristics. Like an added dimension over the correct but (in comparison) much less attractive Bordeaux. Now I wish I had a source locally for this one!
2018 Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay - good colour, lots of red fruit and a bit of earthiness, and a medium long balanced finish.
2018 Domaine Pavelot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Guettes - this presented as alright but muted at first before it revealed a case of mild corkiness. Too bad!
2015 Flowers Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast - lighter less serious pinot with less class and shorter finish than the Burgs but still pleasant.
2019 Dr. Loosen Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese - nice showing well balanced, good floral nose, needs a few years.
