All bought recently at The Party Source or Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati.
1996 Joseph "La magai" Late Harvest Botrytised Riesling from Australia was in great shape and full of apricot fruit and good but not great acidity.
Borgo San Leo Prosecco NV undoubtedly the nicest Prosecco I have ever tasted but that isn't saying a lot as this is probably my 5th or 6th. Lots of pear fruit and a slight apple note too with great acidity and very little bead until in the mouth where it bursts with foam. With 12.5 abv, I thought Proseccos were low in alcohol but maybe I'm thinking of Muscato d' Asti or Spumanti. My wife had TWO glasses. Brut but pretty dry. I'll buy more even tho I have an abundance of bubblie now.
2005 Saint Cosme Cote du Rhone was also one of the best CDR's I have had in a long while. Full deep flavors of red and black raspberries, mostly red, a touch of dustiness, with somewhat tight tannins for the first 1/2 hour then smoothing out nicely. I'll get more of this and open them earlier or let rest for a few years. Nah, I probably can't do that. Just delicious
