This used to be labeled a Palo Cortado but that designation seems to have disappeared from the label, although the technical spec on the winery site still calls it a Palo Cortado. 87% Palomino, 13% Pedro Ximenez so there is quite a noticeable sweetness to it. Dark amber, walnuts, coffee, orange rind. Very nice with a pumpkin soup. Outstanding sherry.

Nice food/wine match. I have a small pumpkin ready for soup, and now I know what to drink with it!

I am a big fan of sherry with split pea soup. There used to be a crepe restaurant in L.A. called The Magic Pan where pea soup+sherry was a thing. I've loved it ever since. Had not considered pumpkin soup, though. Sounds like a great match!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

The 13% PX in the blend, I think, is what makes it successful with the slightly sweet pumpkin soup. Otherwise, it might be too dry.
