WTN: Robbed

So last night I decided to open a bottle of wine, first we've had in two weeks:

2018 Jean-Louis Dutraive (Domaine de la Grand'Cour) Fleurie Clos de la Grand'Cour Gamay
Opened straight from the cellar where it's been resting for years. Bought three, opened a promising bottle in 2020 and saved the other two hoping for evolution like the glorious, brooding '14. But alas, medium red and cloudy. Shows strawberry, pepper, a balsamic vinegar-like tartness and something funky I don't like that's somewhere between bretty and cooked and not quite either. That wasn't evident in 2020 and is probably the 'mousiness' most recent notes on CT mention. Very disappointing. Should have just opened something else but after struggling through a glass of this I completely lost interest.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Is Dutraive a “natural wine” producer?

Yes.

Carbonic, no sulfur. Like so many these days!

Carbonic plus no sulfur is a hard pass for me.

There's a reason why sulfur has traditionally been used in winemaking. Outcomes such as this are the reason.
