Opened this singleton a month ago and it seemed tired compared to the Cantemerle posted earlier. Enjoyable but with little complexity I was hoping for. Opened a 2001 Pegau Res. recently and as usual it was fabulous and may even improve further. Lots of earthy/barnyard notes. Am excitedly waiting on a case of 2007 Pegau Res. to arrive maybe 4-6 weeks from now.

Had you owned the Gloria (I'm now cursed with an ear worm, thank you) since release or was this acquired later?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I've found that Gloria usually ages very well. I have drunk up my 82, but still have bottles of 1970 and 1988 that I should get out and drink. If I do, I shall report back.

Ah, blasts from the past. I remember in the middle to late '80s buying Gloria every year for $10 to $15. When it rolled over $20 (in 1990s dollars, along with a string of what seemed like iffy vintages) I dropped out and have never been back. $99 now? No thanks.

'82 Gloria was my epiphany wine circa 1991, it drank well for a long time, but was usually more friendly than complex.
Pegau sounds good. I have one bottle of '01 Charvin left.
