TN: 2001 Dom de Bois Boursan (CdP)
I was pleasantly surprised to see how approachable and ready for drinking this was upon first being opened. But, after 30 minutes or so it shut down only to re-emerge in full bloom after another 2 hours. Dark, deep color for a CdP with plenty of rich, clean Grenache fruit. Not a funk-meister and not over-ripe or alcoholic, the latter two of which are qualities I've become tired of in recent years. There was an interesting/complex floral-perfumey going on that I just couldn't figure out so "violets" will have to suffice for a descriptor. Medium weight with enough tannins and acid to carry this wine for another 8 to 10 years (minimum), but not a major crime to open one now.
