Cracked these two reds last night:
1. Serpentina Babic Central Croatia (13.5%; Botique Wine Collection/Philadelphia) Primošten/Central Croatia 2018: Dark color; strong blackberry/black cherry/boysenberry/spicy light earthy/dusty/OV rather rustic quite Zin-like from CCCnty not particularly high-toned like Zin; quite tart/tangy strong blackberry/boysenberry/Zin-like fairly earthy/rustic/bit coarse bit toasty/oak rather interesting flavor w/ modest rough tannins; fairly long finish that mirrors flavors; reminds a lot of Zin from CCCnty or SolanoCnty but w/ more acidity & structure; a rather interesting if a bit rustic red. $23.00 (SFW&S)

2. Parts & Labor TheFolkMachine SantaRosa (12.4%; Grenache from MangelsRanch/SuisunVlly + CedarLane/ArroyoSecco + WaddingtonRanch/MendoCnty; Carignane from LolonisRAnch + Maria Martinson/MendoCnty; Syrah from Vecino/PotterVlly) Kenny Likitprakong/HoboWnry/SantaRoas 2022: Med.light color; strong strawberry/Grenache rather earthy/CdR-like light pencilly/oakpleasant simple nose; soft Grenache/strawberry some tomatoey/MendoCnty rather Rhonish/CdR some earthy pleasant enough flavor w/ light gentle tannins; med. rather earthy/CdR/Grenache finish that mirrors flavor; a pleasant enough red but just that that resembles a low-level CdR more than anything; a bit on the dull/simple side. $20.00 (KK)

More plottsbickle from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Serpentina: This is made from the Babic grape, a native of Croatia. It is a cousin of Plavac Mali grape. Not a whole lot of information on this wine. Cannot find anywhere the producer Serpentina. The Botique Wine Collection does not even list this wine or producer on their WebSite. Sorta mystery.
