2019 Quinta Essentia Chenin Blanc Stellenbosch
Ordered at a local wine bar. A richer style featuring pear and peach flavors with a little bottle-age diesel pushing from behind, almost full-bodied with an interesting viscosity. A white wine that drinks like a red, perfect for a meal where he ordered a Wagyu burger and I ordered a bowl of mussels.
This wine is imported to the U.S. by the South African owners of Washington state's Betz winery, and it's not the first one I've had but certainly the oldest. This '19 is the last vintage listed on CT.
