Tried this Red last night:
1. St.Roko Vinograd Sv Roko Vrhunsko Vino S KZP (12%; 100% PlavicMali) Srednja i Juzna/Dalmacija/Croatia 2016: Very dark color; strong blackberry/boysenberry/very Zin-like bit earthy/dusty/OV somewhat rustic slight pencilly/oak slight licorice quite interesting nose; fairly tart/tangy/metallic/steely strong blackberry/Zin-like/licorice rather rustic/dusty/OV bit pencilly/oak interesting flavor w/ ample chewey tannins; very long rustic finish that mimics flavor w/ ample hard/chewey tannins; very strong resemblance to a rustic Zin from ContraCostaCnty but rather ruggedly tannic; needs 2-5 yrs more age but not sure it will ever be pleasurable; not the high-toned character of a Calif Zin nor its rich/lush chgaracter; a bit of a brute of a wine on the palate but very attractive nose. $nc (BK)

More vrhunsko from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. A friend from Boulder was here Sat for a tour of the BradburyMuseum. He was a classmate of Mel Knox and asked Mel what kind of wine he could gift me. Mel suggested Croatia or Canary Islands, so Baine ordered this from BoulderWineMerchant. I've had maybe 8-10 Plavac Malis before, but this was one of the biggest ones I've yet had.
PlavacMali is as off-spring of Zinfandel/Tribidrag/Crljenak Kaštelanski and Dobričić. This btl had a striking resembalance to a Calif Zin but quite more rustic in character.
