We tried these two Ramatos last night at Pig+Fig:
1. Forlorn-Hope Dragone Ramato PinotGris RorickHeritageVnyd/CalaverasCnty (11.61%; 77 cs) Murphys 2017: Ruby/garnet/ramato color; quite fragrant PG/very floral/gardenias very spicy/perfumed talc beautiful/complex nose; fairly tart/tangy bit metallic slight phenolic rose/dried rose petal bit tannic apple/PG/bit floral rather austere flavor w/ some tannins; very long finish that mimics flavor w/ rather austere tannins; a really lovely complex nose but rather hard/Friuli-like on the palate; probably needs another 5-7 yrs age yet. $30.00

More stucoblits from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I have always liked MattRorick's PG ramatos. But, when young, they tend to resemble some of the Friuli PG ramatos and typically need some age. I slightly preferred the '17 because of the stronger aromatics. But both of these badly need age.
