WTN: 2022 Cline North Coast Viognier

2022 North Coast Viognier, Cline Family Cellars

Pale golden color. Lovely viognier varietal aromas, including peony and lily of the valley. Lively fruit flavors on the palate that follow the aromas. This is the sort of fruit that comes across as somewhat sweet, although I doubt there's much residual sugar in this wine. The acidity is in perfect balance. This wine is all about elegance and finesse. No, it's not Condrieu, but it's a beautiful, uncomplicated wine that would be perfect on a hot summer day. I bought it at Whole Foods for US$12.50. At that price it's a steal. Triple Larry.

Cline still makes solid stuff. It’s not to everyone’s taste but what really is.

I went back to Whole Foods and bought several more bottles of this. Turns out I misremembered the price. Not US$12. US$10.

That's a steal for a Viognier that's consistently that good from Cline.
