WTN: Not my Cirqus, not my monkeys

  • 2013 Cirq Pinot Noir TreeHouse - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (8/16/2023)
Bottle from my late father’s cellar. He started buying Cirq right when it first came out, but somehow we never drank a bottle together. I suppose he thought it was not going to be my sort of thing, but it’s not some outsized monster. Yes it’s ripe, but it’s still Pinot Noir. It’s just on the burly side without verging into a Syrah caricature. It’s the sort of wine my dad liked, with some structure to go along with copious fruit. It stands up to full-flavored food, and if kept at a reasonable serving temp it’s also quite balanced. I enjoyed it, though I would have preferred to have drunk it together.

Like.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
