Tried these two wines last night:
1. Weinget Ziereisen Gutedel "Viviser" Badischer Landwein (Casselas; 11%; www.Ziereisen.De; SkurnikWines/NY) Weingut H.P.Ziereisen/Efringen-Kirchen 2020: Med.light gold color; quite interesting very fragrant/perfumed floral/marigolds/pungent/dandelions some herbal/Kansas haymow slight plasticizer/vinyl trash can quite exotic nose; quite tart/tangy intense floral/zinnias/marigolds/pungent quite dry/rich/not austere bit plasticizer light earthy/mineral quite exotic flavor; very long/lingering quite exotic finish that reflects the flavor; this is a very exotic very interesting white that reminds a bit of Friuli Ribolla. $33.00 (SFW&S)

Bedrock TheBedrockHeritage SonomaVlly/SonomaCnty RW (14.6%; 130 yr AncientVines; 19 different varieties plntd in 1888; 40% new FR.oak) Sonoma 2017: Very dark color w/ slight bricking; beautiful/complex quite dusty/OV very strong blackberry/boysenberry/ripe Zin some toasty/Fr.oak/smokey some SonomaVlly/peppery lovely complex nose; fairly tart/tangy quite spicy/SV/peppery some toasty/Fr.oak very strong blackberry/spicy/Zin/boysenberry/bit licorice quite dusty/OV quite complex flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering complex finish that mimics flavor w/ ample chewey tannins; starting to show some evolution & really lovely but still can use another 3-6 yrs. $35.00

1. Gutedel is the German name for the French Chasselas & Swiss Fendant. The versions I've had before tend to be rather dull/uninteresting wines. This German version was very perfumed/aromatic and quite an exotic wine. Best version of this grape I recall having.
