Tried this new arrival last night:
1. Kumpf&Meyer Utopiste RestonsNature GWT Alsace (14.5%; Skin contact for 2 weeks; Aged: neutral barrel; CaMiLLE RiVIeRE/Fruit of the Vines/LongIslandCity/NY) 2020: Deep golden brown/burnished bronze color; very strong phenolic/resinous/VM/skin-contact slight GWT/spicy/hair oil/cinammon slight nutty/graham cracker bit complex/interesting nose; slightly off-dry strong VM/phenolic/resiny very light GWT/spicy/hair oil rather austere/bitter not very pleasant flavor; long rather bitter/tannic some metallic off-dry fi nish that reflects the flavor; the GWT perfume comes thru slightly but very much dominated by the VM/resinous character; not very pleasant to drink now but may be much better/interesting in 8-19 yrs...or may not; shows more aromatics as it warms up but still pretty phenolic. $36.00 (KK)

More piggerplog from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. This would be regarded as a Ramato in Italy because of the GWT pigmentation. I find the orange wines made from aromatic varieties seem to develop the most interesting. This is a natural wine but shows no funky/natty character whatsoever.
