- 2020 Massican Chardonnay Hyde Vineyards - USA, California, Napa Valley (7/24/2023)
I came to know Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay through Ramey, but despite the notable differences in winemaking, this Massican Hyde Chardonnay shows a clear kinship. It’s more direct/linear, but the fruit and herb profile is the same, and the finish has a similar profile. What sets this apart from the Ramey is the freshness of the acidity. It’s a more mouthwatering rendition, and in certain circumstances that’s the better option. I love having both available, and will drink either/both whenever I can.
