Interesting trio of wines with dinner last night.

2020 Artemis Karamolegos Pyritis Mega Cuvee Santorini - a Greek white made from Assyrtiko grape and a real surprise. It was very good indeed at this young age, showing not much colour yet and a nose of mineral and citrus and somehow a little salt. Always a welcome surprise to come upon quality at this level in a wine you have never crossed paths with before.

2011 Domaine Vincent Paris Cornas Granit 30 - ripe fruit, fairly dark colour, and pretty obviously syrah, this was chosen (by me) in the hope that it was close to hitting good drinking. Ripe, chunky dark fruit and good length, probably just hitting prime drinking time.

2009 Castell'in Villa Chianti Classico Riserva - I am a fan of this producer - the wine was light in colour compared to the syrah, and had a nose of red fruit and some earth notes. On palate it was delicious - cherry and raspberry notes, good length and a lengthy clan inish with some herbs creeping in at the end.

I did not know anything about Castell'in Villa until very recently. Enjoy the wines very much.
