These two. As fine as any whites I know, both opened this week since Sunday's chardonnay tasting and I like both as much--or more!--than any of the chardonnays we had. Really exceptional:
2022 Massican Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
Wow! Pale yellow color. Floral nose with lemon zest and a faint herbaceousness, but not the everything-citrus of New Zealandish nor grassy Californian. Rather, it nails the the Friulian style of Northern Italy as described on the back label. Outstanding.
2021 Franck Peillot Roussette du Bugey Altesse de Montagnieu
Medium straw gold. Intense, creamy flavors of pear, chermoya and stone fruit. Sophisticated; exceptional tone and balance. Outstanding.
