WTN: TablasCreek Marsanne '22...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Wed Jul 19, 2023 1:22 pm

The new TCV Marsanne arrived last week, so cracked it last night:
1. TablasCreek Marsanne Estate/AdelaidaDist/PasoRobles (11.5%) PasoRobles 2022: Med.yellow color; strong floral/carnations/appley/Marsanne rather chalky/stony/mineral light pear/spicy rather attractive classic Marsanne nose; quite tart/tangy strong appley/pear/Marsanne slight floral/carnations bit stony/chalky fairly rich lovely flavor; fairly long/lingering bit metallic/tangy finish that mimics flavor; has a richness that belies the 11.5% alcohol; still pretty primary & a lovely Calif Marsanne that will benefit from several yrs of age; very good value at $40.00/$30.00 (VIN)

More gurdlespot from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. This Marsanne reminded me a lot of the young Qupe Marsannes before Bob starting blending in Roussanne but not as austere/mineral as those were. Marsanne is a variety that really benefits from age & this will probably go out 10 yrs or more.

Wow, 11.5%? In Paso? Have they learned to pick early?
